INDIA GREENS PARTY
Press Statement
Unchir-Dunktok, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, 12 December 2021: The India Greens Party (iGP) today said the governments ought to make bigger and smarter investments in health, and encourage diverse groups to make commitments to help move the world closer to UHC by 2030.
In a press statement issued on the occasion, the iGP Chief Spokesperson Suresh Nautiyal said the governments the world over must work for strong and equitable health systems that left no one behind which meant Health for All.
“It is binding on the governments to ensure universal health coverage as they are signatories to the unanimous UN resolution calling for all nations to provide for their citizens affordable and quality healthcare,” he added.
Universal Health Coverage Day is celebrated annually on December 12 and is promoted by the World Health Organisation (WHO). December 12 is the anniversary of the first unanimous United Nations resolution. The universal health coverage (UHC) ensures all people, everywhere, can get the quality health services they need without financial hardship.
The iGP leader hoped that the International Universal Health Coverage Day will continue to aim at raising awareness of the need for strong and resilient health systems and universal health coverage with multi-stakeholder partners.
