INDIA GREENS PARTY
Unchir-Dunktok, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, 19 November 2021: The India Greens Party (iGP), which held its two-day second National Convention (online) on 17 and 18 November, elected its new National Executive Committee (NEC) for two years.
According to a press release issued at the party’s national head office (NHO) here, Ms (Dr) Apeksha Wasudeo Khobragade from Maharashtra state, and Rajendra Minz from Chhattisgarh state have been elected National Co-Presidents of the party for next two years.
Senior journalist and activist Prabhath Prabhakaran of Kerala state has been elected as Secretary-General, and Suresh Nautiyal, Founder-President, elected Chief Spokesperson of the party. Another journalist Agraj Pratap Singh will be the new Treasurer of the party.
The India Greens Party, initiated on 2 July 2017 in New Delhi, was officially founded by Suresh Nautiyal on 18 November 2018 in New Delhi with the pioneering support from Ms Anita Nautiyal, and active support from several people like Prashant Tandon, Anil Chamadia, Vinod Nautiyal, Michael Rajchandra, Rafat Jamal, Rajendra Minz, Raza Haider, VS Roy David, etc.
Founder-President Suresh Nautiyal, Secretary-General Rehana Siddiqui, and Treasurer Vinod Nautiyal, International Secretary Michael Rajchandra, and several other office bearers of the party relinquished their roles just before the election for the new National Executive Committee by the National Council on 18 November 2021.
The party also celebrated its fourth Foundation Day on the second and concluding of the National Convention. All party leaders said the party in last three years has been abeen able to graduate to toddlerhood from infancy; and, it will start running on its own sooner than later.
The press release said Michael Rajchandra (Delhi), Ms Rehana Siddiqui (Delhi), Ranmal Singh Jhala (Gujarat), Prof Jyotirmoy Goswami (West Bengal), Ms Madhubanti Sen (West Bengal), Ms Lily Shanta Minj (Chhattisgarh), Ms Ishpriya Kaur Chadha (Brihan Mumbai), Ms Nazeema AK (Kerala), and Rusi Burjor Nariman (Brihan Mumbai) were elected National Vice-Presidents of the party.
Michael Rajchandra and Ms Ishpriya Kaur Chadha will have additional roles as Co-International Secretaries.
Ms Archana Patel, Ms (Dr) Mansee Bal Bhargava, Adil Rather, Ms Harpreet Kaur, Kesar Singh Waterkeeper, Ms Lily Shanta Minj, and Parixit Kafley were elected to be Spokespersons of the party.
