Rehana Siddiqui new IGP Secretary-General, Michael Rajchandra new IGP International Secretary

New Delhi, 1 August 2020:  The India Greens Party (IGP) has appointed Ms Rehana Siddiqui as its new Secretary-General and Mr Michael Rajchandra as its new International Secretary.

These two positions fell vacant after the party Secretary-General Raza Haider and International Secretary Divya Gaur were expelled from the primary membership of the party and dropped from all positions they were holding in the party on 24 July 2020 by the President exercising his rights as the competent authority.

According to a press statement issued by the IGP President Suresh Nautiyal on Saturday, the top decision-making body of the party – Political Affairs Committee – unanimously endorsed and approved these appointments in its last meeting on 26 July 2020.

Before this, the PAC approved, endorsed and adopted unanimously the decision taken by the IGP President to expel Mr Raza Haider and Ms Divya Gaur from the basic (primary) membership of the party. It also approved, endorsed and adopted the decision of the President to drop them from all positions in the party.

The IGP President has made it clear that no anti-party activities would be allowed and those found engaged/involved in such activities in the future would also be expelled from the party.

“A bunch of disgruntled, dissatisfied, bullying and too ambitious people cannot be allowed to steal the idea of the Green party in India. It would be better if these people had focused on building the party organisation; instead of engaging in the anti-party activities. It is quite clear now that these people along with others have been conspiring to dislodge the party President and steal the party,” Mr Nautiyal said.

“How these disgruntled people can think of building the Green party in India without those having on board who are the very founders and pillars of the India Greens Party,” the IGP President questioned.
