Press Release

Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, 22 April 2023: The Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee of the India Greens Party (iGP) held a symposium on the occasion of the Earth Day today in a village near here.

Addressing the symposium, the iGP Co-President Rajendra Minj said the Earth Day provides an opportunity to raise global public awareness of the challenges to the well-being of the planet and all the life it supports.

He said the Day also recognises a collective responsibility to promote harmony with nature and the Earth, to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of the present and future generations of humanity.

The speakers, including the village sarpanch, emphasised on placing the planet over profit, adding that only a green future can be a secured future.

In a press release the CG unit of the party said that the speakers were of the view that it was vital to restore Earth’s damaged ecosystems.

They pointed out that the climate crisis caused by human meddling with nature has disrupted the ecosystems that support all life on Earth. “It has to be corrected,” they asserted.

Issued by the iGP CG Spokesperson Mukesh Kumar Gupta.
