Resolutions passed and adopted in the iGP Chhattisgarh State Convention on 11 April 2021

The Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee, elected on 11 April 2021, proposed, endorsed and adopted the following Resolutions in its inaugural state convention on 11 April 2021:

Peace and nonviolence: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee is against all forms of violence and counter-violence in the state or elsewhere. The party’s state unit is for peace, nonviolence and respect for human rights; and will strive for these values.

Prosperous Chhattisgarh: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee is determined to make the state prosperous and make healthcare, education, and agriculture accessible to all, andstrive for the economic policies that are in favour of farmers, workers and labourers.

Tourism: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the state government to make all tourist places neat and clean by taking measures to end single use plastic materials there; and make tourism policy in a way that helps in strengthening the local economy as well.

Rivers: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the government to clean all rivers in the state in general and demands rejuvenation of the Apra River in particular.

Wildlife: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the government to ensure easy access of the wildlife to their natural habitats including sanctuaries, national parks and reserve forests. The iGP Chhattisgarh demands from the government to find ways to end human-animal conflicts. The party also demands rehabilitation of elephants in their natural habitats.

Healthcare: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the state government to provide adequate resources to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic. The state government must also improve the health and medical services and facilities in the rural areas in particular.

Road Transport: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the state government to create fast means of road transport and connect the rural areas to the cities.

Rail Transport: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the central government to connect Jashpur to its rail network and create railway transport facility for the region. 

Air Transport: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the central government to upgrade the Mariyamtoli Aerodrome to an airport and start regular/by-weekly air service to connect with Raipur, Ranchi and Varanasi airports for medical emergency purposes and other needs. The air cargo facility will be helpful in transporting the perishable farm produce like fruits and vegetables.

Hockey Stadia: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee recognises the fact that Jaspur serves as a nursery of hockey players. In view of this, the party demands from the state government to create an Astroturf hockey stadium in Jaspur so that the hockey players can practice for national and international events there. The state government should also create an Astroturf stadium in Ambikapur of the state.

MSP for Farmers: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee recognises the fact that Pathalgaon and Ludeg are known for bumper tomato harvest. In view of this, the party demands from the government to create a mechanism that will ensure fair prices for the produce. In other words, this means a fair minimum support price (MSP) system is required to do away with exploitation of the farmers. 

Migration of Labourers: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the state government to provide employment to the labourers and daily wagers in the off seasons so that these labourers are not forced to migrate to other places and they remain readily available in the paddy cultivation season in the state. 

Village Infrastructure: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee demands from the government to ensure cleanliness in the villages and provide basic health and quality education facilities. The party also demands from the government to create conditions for strengthening the village economy.

Language: The iGP Chhattisgarh State Executive Committee appeals to the state government to impress upon the central government to include the Chhattisgarhi language in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
