Press Release
Issued at New Delhi on 15 May 2024
The India Greens Party (iGP) has fielded five candidates in the parliamentary election-2024 from three states; however, only three of them got approval from the Election Commission of India to contest.
Two of the five candidates were rejected by the ECI on flimsy grounds.
Those in the fray include Ms Sarika Dabral from Mumbai North West constituency in Maharashtra, Dr Biharilal Jalandhari from South Delhi constituency in the NCT of Delhi, and Ms Harpreet Kaur from Sangrur constituency in Punjab.
Ms Shivani Bhatt, who filed her nomination papers from Mumbai North Central constituency in Maharashtra, and Suresh Nautiyal who filed his nomination papers from New Delhi constituency in the NCT of Delhi, were rejected as candidates on some flimsy technical grounds.
Voting will take place in these constituencies on 20 May, 25 May and 1 June 2024 respectively.
The India Greens Party is committed to change politics, not climate as it is the party with a pledge. The party leadership is of the belief that Green is the future, and the future is Green!
The party has called on the voters to elect the iGP candidates and be a part of the much-needed political change in the country. The party has also appealed to the people to make financial contribution to the party and its three candidates in the fray.
